India is an ancient land and has seen numerous dynasties, civilizations and cultures from the days of yore. Our ancestors have blessed and gifted this land with architectural marvels like no other. Moreover, such is the precision, intricacy and exquisiteness of the craft that it leaves us awe-struck and wondering at the knowledge and skill of the people back in the days. These ancient architectural wonders also carry ancient advanced scientific knowledge regarding position of magnetic meridians, position of the sun during equinoxes, ancient engineering principles behind construction of temples and pillars and most importantly, several unravelled mysteries and technological designs that make a mockery of today’s scientific and technological developments. In order to celebrate this ancient gifted glory, there will be many stalls and temple replicas and models of other constructions at the program.

Vishwashanthi Mahayagam

There will be a performance of huge ‘Yagam’. The purpose of this ‘Vishwashanti Mahayagam’ is to bring peace and prosperity in the world. In this Yagam a fusion of sound and heat creates a new form of physical, psychological and spiritual well-being of human beings. That’s why, we hear that in ancient India, homas, yajnas, and yagas gave the wonderful results. For that reason, great sages in India used to perform the Yajyas for the welfare of the world, so that all the living beings along with the humanity of the world should be healthy and happy. Homa means the act of offering oblation into the fire. Yajna is elaborately described Yajurveda. In Yajurveda, Yajna is the greatest among all works “Yajyo Vai Shreshthataram Karma”. One can purify his / her soul by performing Yajna. In Vedic culture, it is thought that the holy fire is the mediator between Gods and humans; when the offerings are made with chanting of mantras, it directly reaches the Gods, who bless the people with rains, food, health, and good luck. According to Apastamba Sutra, the definition of Yajna is the act by which we surrender something for gods e.g. grains, pulses, milk and milk products (ghee, butter, curd) fruits, plant juice, etc. Yajna is the contact medium for gods and to seek their blessings. There are many types of Yajnas performed by Hindus. Rajsuya Yajna, Ashwamedha Yajna, Chaaturmasya Yajna, Vaajpeya Yajna, Purushmedha Yajna, Sarvamedha Yajna are the some of the yajnas. Achieving the universal peace is the noble purpose of this Vishwashanthi Mahayagam.
